Setting Up New MacBooks
When you set up your account for the first time on your new Mac, you will need to change the Account name manually to your MLC username (example: jsmith or jsmith1). This is important for allowing you to print at school.
Enrolling your device
Connect to the internet. Make sure the internet has all required passwords and certificates installed.
Navigate to the following link in Safari Browser:
Input your MLC Username and Password and press the blue Log In button. (The same credentials used for Printer and Wifi access.)
The website will ask you to install a certificate onto the computer. Press the continue button to download and install it. A window will open asking you to install the certificate. Open System Preferences and click Profiles to install the certificate.
Back in Safari it will ask you to install a second certificate named the “MDM Profile”. Press continue to install this one. Open System Preferences again and click on Profiles and then Click to install the MDM profile.
Safari should now display “The Enrolment Process Is Complete”. We have one more step to do though. Shortly after the enrolment is complete the computer will open a window and start installing the Settings and Applications required my MLC School
- This step can take up to 30min. It is important to leave your Mac open and connected to the internet. Once promoted, restart your Mac to complete the setup.
