To be able to reset your password yourself, you must first register some details to allow us to verify who you say you are.
Step 1
To begin this process please navigate to this link:

If prompted, enter your full email address.
Step 3
Enter your password for your account and then click “Sign in”
Step 4
You will then be asked to setup some options for accessing your account.
You will need one of the following to proceed:
- Personal Email
Mobile phone number
In this example we are going to use the mobile phone number. Click "Set it up now" next to your authentication method.
Step 5
On this next screen we need to select our country code from the drop-down menu and enter your personal mobile phone number where shown. Australia's country code is +61.
Step 6
Once you have entered your details, click either “text me” or “call me” in order for microsoft to either send you a six digit code via SMS or call you to give you the code.
Enter your code and click “verify”
If you are having issues with texting, please try the call option.
Step 7
If correctly verified, you should see the following screen, indicating that mobile phone authentication method is setup and working. Click finish to complete the registration.
Please repeat the steps for verifying Authentication email address, if needed.
Reset Password
Step 1
Try sign-in to Office.com once again. You may have to log out first. When you are at this login screen simply click “Forgot password”, under where you would normally enter your password.
Step 2
That will bring you to a verification page. Fill out your email address and the characters shown and click “Next”
Step 3
You can have multiple different types of verification methods. We will be using the “Send a text to my mobile phone number” verification method for this example.
Step 4
Enter the 6-digit code as shown above and then click “Next”
Step 5
Enter your new password, and then click “Finish” to complete the password reset!
