Please note: Your administrator will need to provide permission and access in order to use the file upload and download features of Guacamole mentioned in this guide.

Downloading

Using download folder

  1. While in your Guacamole session, open the file explorer, find and open "Shared on Guacamole RDP", this is usually pinned on the left hand side under "This PC":

  1. Inside of this directory will be a folder called "Download". Anything copied and dragged into this directory will initiate the file to download to your local machine.

For example, in the screenshot below I have copied a file I would to download, then I have selected the downloads folder and clicked paste:

  1. You should then see the relevant file download in your web browser. Example shown is Chrome on Windows you experience may look different depending on your browser:

Congratulations, your file(s) have now been downloaded to your local machine for you to do with as you please!

Using menu

  1. Save/move the file you would like to download to the "Shared on Guacamole RDP" folder as shown previously.

  2. Open the Guacamole menu by pressing the following keys:

    Shift + Control + Alt

You should see a menu like this pop out from the left hand side of your session:

  1. Under the "Devices" header, click on "Shared Drive", you should see a menu with the file you just moved/copied previously:

  1. All that is left is double-click the file(s) you would like to download! They should then download like any other file to your local machine.
